A digitally-inclined duo from Bat Records, Ikadub explores the twists and turns of dub without confining themselves to the genre’s boundaries. While their roots lie in dancing between sound system speakers, the duo draws on broader influences from underground culture. They oscillate between Kingston and London, 80s dancehall and 90s hip hop, creating a skillfully orchestrated blend that invites you to dance.
Always on the move, the two partners collaborate extensively with singers, producing unique arrangements to accompany each voice. The result: a generous album with multiple sounds.
Ikadub has the fever, and it’s contagious!

Duo de l’écurie Bat Records aux accents digitaux, Ikadub sillonne les méandres du dub sans se cantonner aux frontières du genre. Si leurs origines se trouvent bien dans la danse entre les enceintes du sound system, le tandem se nourrit d’influences plus larges de la culture underground. Ainsi oscillent-ils entre Kingston et Londres, dancehall 80’s et hip hop 90’s, pour un mélange savamment orchestré qui invite à la danse.
Toujours en mouvement, les deux producteurs multiplient les collaborations avec des chanteurs-ses, produisant des arrangements singuliers pour accompagner chaque voix. Le résultat : un album généreux aux sonorités multiples.
Ikadub à la fièvre, et celle-ci est contagieuse !

Dub Shepherds rencontre Echo Minott en 2016 par le projet Dub Master Clash, concept de soirées dub qui voyait “s’affronter” plusieurs producteurs dub. Une amitié solide est née entre le jamaïcain et les jeunes producteurs Clermontois.
De ces clashs de reverb et d’écho est née un maxi 12”, “This World is inna Mess”, gravant dans la wax la première collaboration entre Dub Shepherds et Echo Minott.… You Shall Reap Someday
En 2023, Dr Charty et I Fi se rendent en Jamaïque avec le sac rempli de riddims produits au studio Bat Records, et sont accueillis sur place par Echo Minott. Vous voyez le tableau ? On vous épargnera ici les photos du voyage, et ne sélectionnerons que le fruit de cette rencontre musicale : cinq titres et cinq dubs entre roots et rub a dub 80’s qui composent le showcase Mango Tree. The Seed You Sow …
Dub Shepherds met Echo Minott in 2016 through the Dub Master Clash project, a dub evening concept that saw several dub producers “battle it out”. A solid friendship was born between the Jamaican and the young Clermont-Ferrand producers.
From these reverb and echo clashes came a 12” maxi, ‘This World is inna Mess’, etching in wax the first collaboration between Dub Shepherds and Echo Minott.

… You Shall Reap Someday
In 2023, Dr Charty and I Fi travel to Jamaica with a bag full of riddims produced at the Bat Records studio, and are greeted on the spot by Echo Minott. Get the picture? We’ll spare you the photos of the trip here, and just select the fruit of this musical journey : five tracks and five dubs between roots and 80’s rub a dub that make up the Mango Tree showcase. The Human Studio :
The Human Studio project, led by multi-instrumentalist Gianmarco Galbucci, revives the vibes of 1970’s roots reggae and dub soundscapes. With heavy basslines, solid rhythms, and long echoes reminiscent of Lee Perry and King Tubby, each track takes you on a musical journey that transports you back to the vintage reggae period. The Human Studio it’s a tribute to the timeless allure of classic reggae.

“BUBBLE ON TIME” compile des singles enregistrés sur différentes “Faces B ” du catalogue de BAT Records entre 2022 et 2023.

On pourra ainsi apprécier une partie du travail d’I Fi avec le label ces deux dernières années et les mis “sans compromis” des deux acolytes, Dr Charty et Jolly joseph, qui apportent cette note épicées “vintage” au projet.

Lyrics pertinents, sujets introspectifs ou plus légers, Riddims tantôt Roots, tantôt Rub-A-Dub; On se laisse aller, le temps de l’écoute, au style original du français et de la production qui vise juste !

Premier essai réussi dans la langue de Molière avec “Accroches-toi“, où I Fi jongle avec sa langue natale tout en gardant la touche typique des toasteurs yardies.

Un EP à écouter en boucle, on ne s’en lasse pas.

‘Bubble on Time” is compiling singles recorded on some of Bat records’ ”B sides” between 2022 and 2023 one can thus enjoy some of I Fi’s work with the label thru the last two years and the raw uncompromised mixs of Dr Charty and Jolly Joseph (the Dub Shepherds).

On prend les mêmes et on recommence
Une semaine d’hiver au One Buck studio, 4 musiciens. Ocman Dread et Ras Salam font à nouveau appel à Jolly Joseph et Dr Charty pour les accompagner à la guitare, basse, claviers… Les enregistrements de cette session ne laissent pas deviner les températures négatives et le givre à l’extérieur, les riddims sont ensoleillés et le son chaud. Le 5ème album de Pinnacle Sound est dans le sillage des précédents, du roots qui donne le sourire.Le souffle c’est la vie
La suite se passe au studio Bat Records. Les Dub Shepherds affinent ces prises où le souffle et le grain se mêlent, à la recherche de l’authenticité qui fait la particularité de Pinnacle Sound depuis ses débuts. A grands renforts de machines vintage et de bandes magnétiques, l’album se précise et commence à prendre forme.

De nombreux invités
Autre marque de fabrique de Pinnacle Sound, de nombreux invités derrière le micro sont présents sur ce disque comme sur les précédents. On retrouve les incontournables : Marcus I et Jolly Joseph, auxquels s’ajoutent de nouvelles voix, comme Payoh SoulRebel qui ouvre l’album avec le titre “Downpressure” sans équivoque : nous sommes là pour passer un bon moment ! Grande nouveauté sur cet album, la présence de voix féminines ! Le trio Les Steadies délivre le brillant “Thank You”, et Nina Murple signe la balade “By The Train”.

Vous l’aurez compris, Pinnacle Sound dévoile un nouvel album riche et généreux, 10 titres du plus kitsch au plus profond, qui ne laisseront personne indifférent.

We take the same and start again
A winter week at One Buck studio, 4 musicians. Ocman Dread and Ras Salam once again call on Jolly Joseph and Dr Charty to accompany them on guitar, bass, keyboards… The recordings of this session do not suggest the negative temperatures and the frost outside, the riddims are sunny and sound warm. Pinnacle Sound’s 5th album is in the wake of the previous ones, roots that make you smile.

Breath is life
The rest takes place at the Bat Records studio. The Dub Shepherds refine these takes where breath and grain mingle, in search of the authenticity that has made Pinnacle Sound special since its beginnings. With the help of vintage machines and magnetic tapes, the album takes shape and begins to take shape.

Many guests
Another Pinnacle Sound trademark, numerous guests behind the microphone are present on this disc as on the previous ones. We find the essentials: Marcus I and Jolly Joseph, to which are added new voices, like Payoh SoulRebel who opens the album with the unequivocal “Downpressure”: we are here to have a good time! Big news on this album, the presence of female voices! The trio The Steadies delivers the brilliant “Thank You”, and Nina Murple signs the ballad “By The Train”.
